Local Savor – Get your Cue here!

Famous North Carolina Barbecue; visitors from all over the world have heard tell of it. But what many do not realize is even in North Carolina there is a Barbecue debate. Both traditional styles are pork based but the debate for "the Best" is regional with Lexington style and Eastern Style. The important differences are in the sauce and the parts of the pig used. Here in Murphy, North Carolina a family owned local restaurant boasts a style all their own that is nothing short of delicious. Slow smoked meats and a choice of house-made sauces tantalize the senses and satisfy the biggest appetites. Folks living in the western most tip of North Carolina might argue there is a third contestant to that Barbecue debate right here in Murphy; Rib Country

Fortunately for Murphy the Fisk family started a Barbecue tradition back in 1998 offering some of the finest Barbecue to be found in the region with Rib Country. Murphy proudly hosts one of their four locations at 2121 US Highway 64 West serving deliciousness 11:00 am to 9:00 pm daily. While Pulled Pork tops the menu Rib Country offers many other options such as smoked brisket, baby back ribs, smoked turkey, sausage, steak, shrimp, and more much. And if that was not enough they even cater, offering full service catering that can't be beat.

The evidence of the success of Rib Country can be attested to by the patrons. The adage, "where the locals go" definitely holds true for this restaurant. Visitors to the area can rub elbows with locals while enjoying an oversized plate of Barbecue in a family friendly atmosphere. And true to family and community Rib Country is involved in many community activities. Winners two years running 2018 and 2019 of the Cherokee Count Chamber of Commerce's Forks and Corks-Local Savor "Best Presentation" and welcoming organizations like the Murphy Rotary Club for their monthly meetings.

So whether you are interested in pulled pork or a slab of ribs just don't forget.....Save room for the cobbler!
