Spring: March 15 – June 15 |
Spring brings new life to the mountains. Frost is common through April 15th, and it has been known to snow as late as the end of April. Mornings are chilly and winds can add to the chill. April 15th to June 15th, night temperatures in the higher elevations range from 40 to 50 degrees. Day temperatures range from 65 to 75 degrees. |

Summer: June 15 – September 15 |
Summer turns the bold beauty of the rugged mountains to emerald green. Nighttime temperatures range from 55 to 65 degrees, with daytime temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 degrees in the higher elevations. Temperatures can be in the 90s in the valleys. Afternoon thundershowers are common. |
